The use of airbags
The airbags are distributed in three directions inside the car: the front (driver and passenger seats), the sides (front and rear seats), and the roof. The words Supplementary Inflatable Restraint System (SRS) are printed on the outside of containers equipped with airbag systems, which should be translated directly into Chinese as "Auxiliary Inflatable Restraint System". The English name emphasizes that airbags are auxiliary devices that should work in conjunction with seat belts to provide optimal protection. Unfortunately, this point is overlooked in the Chinese name, which can easily lead users to misunderstand that only airbags can provide good protection. In fact, if not used in conjunction with seat belts, in some cases, the deployment of airbags can cause unnecessary injury to passengers. The airbag in the driver's seat is installed in the middle of the steering wheel, and the safety airbag in the passenger seat is installed inside the platform in front of the vehicle. In the event of an accident, it can effectively protect the head and chest of the driver and passenger seats. This is because a violent collision from the front can cause significant deformation in the front of the vehicle, and the occupants in the car will dive forward with this strong inertia, causing mutual collision with the interior components. In addition, the safety airbag in the driver's seat can effectively prevent the steering wheel from hitting the driver's chest in the event of a collision, avoiding fatal injuries. The side airbag system is generally installed on the car door to protect the safety of passengers in the event of a side collision or vehicle rollover. In the event of a side collision, the car door will deform severely, making it impossible to open the door and trapping passengers inside the car. The side airbag can effectively protect the driver and passengers from injuries to the waist, abdomen, outer chest, and arms caused by the side impact, ensuring the mobility and escape ability of the upper limbs.
